This past week, the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation, who’s mission is to serve the lives of people with serious mental illness by investing in innovative projects in Northeast Ohio, made a huge investment in Kent State University’s Fashion School.
According to an article featured Monday May 1st, the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation contributed $2.5 million dollars to the Shannon Rodgers and Jerry Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising.
Their support will address two key initiatives needed: $1.5 million will endow a chair supporting the Fashion School’s director and the other $1 million will support the study-away program for fashion school students. If you weren’t aware, Kent State is the first school in the country to require a study-away program experience before graduation. Kent State’s Fashion School is currently ranked #3 in the United States, and #19 in the World according to several sources listed in the article.
