KSU Fashion receives $2.5 Million Dollar Gift

This past week, the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation, who’s mission is to serve the lives of people with serious mental illness by investing in innovative projects in Northeast Ohio, made a huge investment in Kent State University’s Fashion School.

According to an article featured Monday May 1st, the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation contributed $2.5 million dollars to the Shannon Rodgers and Jerry Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising.

Their support will address two key initiatives needed: $1.5 million will endow a chair supporting the Fashion School’s director and the other $1 million will support the study-away program for fashion school students. If you weren’t aware, Kent State is the first school in the country to require a study-away program experience before graduation. Kent State’s Fashion School is currently ranked #3 in the United States, and #19 in the World according to several sources listed in the article.
